El Cajon, CA – 72.6 kW
This brand new government facility is slated to open to public in summer of 2011. The building will have a typical office setup and power usage. The structure design includes a 72.6 kW solar power system to best accommodate the anticipated power needs.
Due to insufficient space on the roof, the city officials chose to install a carport with 324 solar panels. This way, the system will not only reduce a significant amount of the facilities electricity usage from the grid, but also it will provide welcome shade to the cars parking underneath.
Number of panels: 324
