Unitarian churches around the nation are renowned for their commitment to sustainability. This pledge was the starting point for this church’s interest in the solar power systems as well as energy efficiency measures.
As the first step, Vaha conducted an energy audit of the building that outlined where and how the electricity was used and made recommendations on how to mitigate the wasted energy through best practices.
The patrons of the church followed all of Vaha’s recommendations by implementing the energy efficiency measure and installing a 26-panel system on their roof. They celebrated the installation of their panels with a dedication event to which many city officials and members of the community participated.
