This project’s design, scope, and access to local resources were similar to the Palmdale solar farm. Our installation team needed to be especially efficient with the allocation of labor to meet the installation timelines and quality expectations. The job scope also included the interconnection build-out, including underground, a power pole, switchgear, and a 38kV gang switch. The electrical work was sequential and organized: mounting combiner boxes, grounding solar modules and equipment, pulling home runs, mounting inverters & transformers, installing the switchgear and the power pole, pulling & terminating underground Medium Voltage cable, pulling and terminating all low voltage cable from combiner boxes, inverters, and secondary stages of the tranformers, completion of the communication & weather station equipment, and finally, connecting PV strings and energizing the entire site on both the DC and AC sides of the inverters. The project materials included polycrystalline panels and single axis trackers. System DetailsNumber of panels: 8,300 Lifetime Environmental Benefits
