For a short time, late last year, consumption of renewable energy actually surpassed nuclear energy. However, this does not mean renewable electricity is on the rise. Renewable energy includes biomass for space heating and biofuel for transportation. Though it is a great step towards renewable energy, more resources should be invested in renewable electricity in order to decrease our use of nuclear energy.
